Question: I am four month pregnant but I am also due for my dental cleaning.  It has been a year since the last one.  My husband dental plan kicked in for us so I can see a dentist again.  Do I need to wait to have the baby or can I have my teeth cleaned without having to have the X-rays.  Do you know?

Reply: If you are going to a dental office that already has a prior record on file, X-rays should not be an issue they can put that off and still do a basic cleaning.  However if you have dental issues you want to address then x-rays may be needed.  Just tell your dentist you are pregnant they will advise if they can or can not put off x-rays and if x-rays are needed they know how to take them without it being and issue for your baby
